It covers recent events such as the agitation for the Jan Lokpal Bill and the Nirbhaya case that have underlined the role of non-government players in law-making in India as well as long-standing movements like for right to information, right to education, and food security. The authors have used the case study method to undertake a holistic study of the policy decisions made in the last two decades. The husband-wife co-authors live in Vasant Kunj, New Delhi and love to travel. Rajesh is currently Professor and Executive Vice Dean at the Jindal Global Business School at the O. P. Jindal Global University. Kaushiki heads Sunay Policy Advisory, a policy research and consulting start-up based in Gurgaon, that they co-founded. Their Oxford India Short Introduction to Public Policy in India was published by OUP in 2016.
