Author Information

Philip Dawson was born in Brazil, and educated in England and Canada and he brings the benefit of a diverse engineering, design and IT background to his current work as an author and journalist specialising in shipping, transport and design-related subjects. Recently elected as a Companion member of the Royal Institution of Naval Architect, Philip Dawson makes his home in Toronto, Canada. Tractor historian Ian M. Johnston is the author of three books, including Agricultural Tractors. He was born in Edinburgh in 1935. In the late 1960s, he was the General Manager of Cumberland Tractors Pty Ltd, one of the largest Massey Ferguson dealerships. In retirement, he has continued his research, writing and broadcasting with regional radio. Bruce Peter is Reader in Design History at The Glasgow School of Art. He has written numerous books on various aspects of modern merchant ship design and operation. Recent publications include Danish Liners Around the World (Nautilus Forlag, 2014) and Museet i Dokken (Arvinius+Orfeus, 2013).
