Overview

Jean served successfully for eighteen years in various government agencies-until her stellar career came to a screeching halt. Naked Truth is the riveting true story of one woman's experiences with discrimination, racism, and unlawful retaliation from the government entity meant to watch over and protect the people. After seven years of suffering under widespread corruption, lies, and mismanagement, Jean uses this deeply painful and personal experience to help motivate, empower, and inspire others who seek justice, are committed to ending systemic racism, and are determined to speak truth to power.

Reviews

Despite the fact that the narrator was incredibly high achieving and hardworking, I found her wholesome, down to earth, and authentic, and the experiences suffered, whilst on a scale that I believe not many could have endured, were still made relatable to anyone who has been bullied at work or affected by discrimination and racism. This meant that I felt invested in the story and also identified with much of the tale. So, I was interested and found myself empathetic, sometimes furious, and other times, like the narrator, completely and utterly flabbergasted. Strong, engaging read indeed! -Ms. Francis, Reviewer, The Abundant Word I liked how the author used foreshadowing by showing the readers some dialogue that would come later. The creative use of suspense throughout the book kept me hooked in anticipation of what would happen next. In conclusion, there is nothing I disliked about the book. I recommend it to anyone who may have gone through or is currently going through a hostile work environment, racism, or religious discrimination. -JM, Online BookClub Reviewer [This] memoir is sad, as it should be. Reading it, I grew angry and frustrated-angry at seeing such behavior from highly educated people who, well into the new century, perpetuate the irrational attitudes of bygone eras, and frustrated because institutionalized racism is so subtle that one cannot expose it easily. -Dimitry, Fiverr Reviewer Naked Truth is an unflinching and revealing memoir about the abuses that the author underwent at her workplace. Among the great strengths of this narrative is how patiently she dramatizes each of the individual episodes, creating a painful mosaic that brings to life all of the characters and participants in the conspiracy against her from the moment that she made her first complaint about them. It shows how they systematically sought to discredit her simply because she had the gall to call out their illegal biases and recriminations against her. -Ernesto Mestre, Reviewer, The Book Butchers I was enthralled with [this] story! [The author] told me some of what was going on during the time it was happening, but reading the completion touched my heart and soul. The way [she] related the story was definitely riveting. I could hardly put the manuscript down! -Eudora Fenty, Reviewer It is no easy feat to offer a balanced perspective-a necessity, if the writer wants readers to glean wisdom and a sense of empowerment from his or her book and not simply consider it an outlet for perceived grievances-but this author clearly establishes herself as reliable in her personal and professional life. Her eagerness to share official documentation at every turn, coupled with her more emotionally driven opinions, instills confidence among readers that they should pay attention to her truth, because if it could happen to her, it's not out of the realm of possibility that it could happen to them. -Mark Weinstein, Editorial Director, Kevin Anderson & Associates Loved it! Naked Truth is an alarming story about discrimination and racism at the federal government level. I would encourage everyone to read this book. While Dr. Jean Francis tells a very disturbing tale, it is filled with hope and determination, even when everything is falling apart around her. Time and time again, she commits herself to Christ and presses forward. -Kareen Hewitt, Online BookClub
