OverviewThis book collects some contributions presented in the annual Congress ""Mathematical Modeling & Human Behavior"", held from 10 to 12 July 2024 at Universitat Politècnica de València, Valencia, Spain. These manuscripts deal with new mathematical methods and applications covering a wide range of areas of Mathematics, providing an overview of hot topics where the mathematical community is currently advancing. Mathematical modeling and numerical simulation play a key role in scientific advances in science and engineering. The combination of mathematical language and the power of computers to carry out rapid and accurate computations is currently permitting a better understanding of complex phenomena that are of great interest to our society. The unifying approach to success in dealing with such challenges falls within the realm of mathematical modeling. Thanks to the mathematical methods that are continuously developing, researchers can gain insights into biological processes and medical diseases, predict outcomes in climate phenomena, and optimize designs in engineering mechanisms with unprecedented accuracy and efficiency. His Ph.D. dissertation, ""Algunas propiedades geométricas uniformes y no uniformes en espacios de Banach"" was supervised by professor V. Montesinos (Universitat de València) in 1995. His research career has had three branches with different points in common: until 1995, it was focused on geometric properties in Banach spaces. In 1996, started a new line of research in Matrix Analysis and since 2006, initially simultaneously with the previous one, started a research line in Numerical Analysis, specifically in iterative techniques for solving nonlinear equations and systems. The design and analysis of the convergence of iterative methods is a field of research that has developed very quickly in recent years. The first papers in this area were already widely cited, among a global amount of more than 4300 cites (Scopus). From the publications point of view, his work has been reflected in more than 300 papers published in major international peer-reviewed multidisciplinary scientific journals indexed in JCR database, reached an h-index of 32 (Clarivate), and a Field-weighted Citation Impact (FWCI) of 1.00 (Scopus); more than 350 lectures in national and international conferences, and collaboration in 9 monographs on different research topics. His joint work with Prof. Alicia Cordero has leaded the international research in this area since then, with more than 50 foreign collaborators, being among the top 10 scholars worldwide in the field of Iterative Methods (ScholarGPS). During this time, he has supervised eighteen doctoral theses in Matrix Analysis and Numerical Analysis, most of them framed in the Doctorate with Mention of Quality ""Multidisciplinary Mathematics"" of the Department of Applied Mathematics of the Universitat Politècnica de València. In addition, he has advised more than ten Master dissertations and more than fifty final degree projects. The mentioned research has also led to his role as Guest Editor in several indexed international journals from Elsevier, Wiley, and Mdpi editors, among others. Regarding research grants, he has participated in more than twenty research projects of the European Community, the Spanish Government, and regional grants by Generalitat Valenciana. The most recent ones PeroSpiker ERC Advanced Grant and DESCARTES 2 (CRNS Singapore). Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
