"Author Steve Tomecek is a geologist who specializes in the study of soils, which is why he is known as ""The Dirtmeister."" When he is not digging in the dirt, he is a nonfiction author who has written more that 40 books for both children and teachers, includingBouncing & Bending Light, the 1996 winner if the American Institute of Physics Science Writing Award.
