After studying at Liverpool Art College, he began his career as an illustrator with a distinctive talent for historical subjects with a specific emphasis on weaponry and combat. Dennis has contributed to such works as Illustrated Family Bible, Longbowman versus Crossbownman: Hundred Years’ War 1337-60, and The Pilum: The Roman Heavy Javelin. Claude-Bernard Costecalde has a master’s degree in theology as well as a diploma in advanced studies in anthropology, philosophy, and Semitic languages, and a doctorate in the science of religions—both from the Sorbonne, Paris. As a publisher in his own right, Dr. Costecalde is committed to producing books about the Bible for both Christian and nonreligious readers.
