He is the former president of the Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine; chancellor ,Indian college of critical care Medicine and president of the National College of Chest Physicians. Dr. Chawla’s research interests include non-invasive ventilation, viral infections, and reducing infection rates in the ICUs and hospitals across India. Under the aegis of the Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine, he had also conceptualized and developed online course on topics such as critical care infectious disease and comprehensive critical care.
