Author Information

Dr. Percy Ricketts is a Licensed Psychotherapist, Nationally Certified Counselor and a Parenting Consultant. He operates a private practice in Pembroke Pines, Florida, where he provides counseling/psychotherapy and related services to clients of various backgrounds. He developed the Parenting for Divorce curriculum, which is one of the programs that is approved by the Florida Department of Children and Families and it is mandatory for divorcing parents in the state of Florida and those who are involved in paternity actions. He also provides instruction for children of divorce utilizing the internationally-acclaimed Sandcastles and other approaches. Dr. Ricketts is a graduate of Virginia Tech, Nova Southeastern University and Argosy University. He has a Master of Science Degree in Mental Health Counseling and a Doctorate in Counseling Psychology. He has authored other books on divorce, on parenting and on fatherhood. Originally from Jamaica, Dr. Ricketts has traveled extensively throughout the world.
