Author Information

Neale S. Godfrey is the financial voice for women and families for over 50 years. As a single mom, Neale had a need to educate her own kids to be financially literate and they inspired her to create the topic of “kids and money” in the 1980s. Neale is a 28-time author of several best sellers, including a New York Times #1 Best Seller, Money Doesn’t Grow on Trees: A Parent’s Guide to Raising Financially Responsible Children. She has also authored the first money curricula for children and three mobile gaming video apps teaching kids about money. Her work has reached over 6 million people at home and at school. Neale started her journey with The Chase Manhattan Bank, in 1972 joining as one of the first female executives in banking, and later became president of The First Women’s Bank and founder of The First Children’s Bank. In 1989, Neale became an entrepreneur and formed the Children’s Financial Network Inc. with the mission of educating children and their parents about money. She is proud to serve on the board of several charities; works with female veterans out of Syracuse University to help them to become entrepreneurs and is an Executive in Residence at Columbia Graduate School of Business mentoring our next generation of business leaders.
