This book is like no other. I am a veteran with 22 years on the Middletown Ohio Fire Department. I want to take you through a journey of being on the fire department where we learned to use practical jokes as a stress release. We had plenty of time on our hands to create a brotherhood where we knew how... not to get mad, but get even. Being a firefighter is a very stressful career, in honesty, when you leave your home to go to work, you don't know if you will be returning to those you love alive. The firefighters I had the honor of working with were some of the most courageous, compassionate, and selfless people I had the privilege to work alongside. Practical jokes were what often kept us sane in this emotional atmosphere.. If you choose to read this book, please let me explain to the non-firefighters, the very unique working conditions at the firehouse can sometimes cause well adjusted adults to behave in a somewhat deviant manner, This book is not about the heroic actions, its a composite of humorous stories that helped us deal with doing what most normal people would not do... run into a fire rather than run out!
