Diagnostic imaging, also called medical imaging, is the technique and process of imaging the interior of a body for clinical intervention. It is also used to visually represent the function of organs and tissues. Diagnostic imaging reveals the internal structures hidden by the skin and the bones using technologies like electromagnetic radiation, ultrasonic waves, radiopharmaceuticals, etc. Other technologies which are used in diagnostic imaging include endoscopy, elastography and thermography.
