Overview

Welcome back to Wallace County! Reporter Dacie Mae MacIver is still recovering from the harrowing events of the Spring when her high school crush, Henry James Wallace (rock star), swaggered back into town and bodies started dropping. Things are just quieting down in the small town of Wallace when a former fellow reporter of the Carlson High School Tribune, Sam Pearson, returns home on leave from Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and invites Dacie Mae on a picnic that will end up churning her stomach and rocketing her back into the spotlight. Without US Marshal Hank McClain by her side, Dacie Mae feels like Lois Lane without her Superman, and struggles to keep her promise to stay out of harm's way while Hank is gone. Liza McPherson of the Holler's Grove Gazette steps in to help mentor Dacie Mae and keep an eye on her. It's hard to keep anyone safe when everyone is hiding secrets, but Dacie Mae is determined to figure out who attacked two young women in her community before they do it again. This time, she'll have to save herself.
