She grew up in foster care from the day of her birth until the age of 16 when she was finally adopted by her foster mother of six years at the time. While in foster care she experienced years of abuse and neglect and suffered from mental illnesses such as Anxiety and Depression as a result. Despite all her challenges, she left California and moved across the country where she pursued and received her B.A. in Mass Communications from Shaw University. It was then that she decided to follow her dream of giving back to foster and former foster children who went through the same horrific experiences she did. She thought of things she would tell her younger self if she could. Out of that was birthed the ""Dear Little Me"" series. The series focuses on challenges such as abuse, neglect, low self esteem, anger issues, and fear, amongst others and how to overcome them in a healthy manner. The first book of the series titled ""It's Moving Day"" was released on October 7th, 2020 and covers the fear of transitioning from one foster home to the next."
