Author Information

Scott Britt is a 4th degree black belt in Isshinryu karate, and also holds rank in Shotokan, Agedo, and Kendo. In 2004, he was inducted into the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame as Bunkai Instructor of The Year. He has been an avid competitor, serving on the U.S. team in the 2004 World Games in Athens, Greece, where he brought home several medals in various divisions. He was also the 2004 and 2005 U.S. National Martial Arts Team Alliance National Points Champion. In 2012, he was honored to join a team of martial artists going on a missions trip to the Ukraine, where they used their skills and talents to reach others for God. Scott teaches karate in Oak Ridge, TN, and has a day job as an Instrumentation and Controls engineer. He and his wife Mindy, and 1-yr old son Leo (who already has his own Gi!), live in Spring City, TN. He views karate not as a hobby or as a part-time job, but as a calling and a ministry to help those who are weak become better able to defend themselves, to teach Christian values, and to introduce Christ to those who otherwise may never have had the opportunity to know Him.
