OverviewWhen you're seventeen years old and like most kids, you're probably in high school. You're looking forward to playing your favorite sport with your best friends or attending your favorite history or art class. Or maybe you have already picked out your dress or tux for prom night. Maybe you're thinking about making new friends as you get ready to think about choosing a college. When I was 17 years old, I was planning how to escape from LDS Mormon reform school. I was involuntarily sent away by my parents in 2008, to be reformed by a small Mormon community in Utah. My parents' desperation to change my rebellious teenage soul thought I'd be safe and able to heal. Little did they know that the type of techniques they were using to reform me, and the other 75-80 students, were extremely abusive and neglectful. Teachings used were very similar to a type of mental brainwashing created in the 1970's. When you read my book, you will step into my own experience as a stduent on a day to day basis living within the Mormon community and 'sharing the carpet' with mentally ill girls and boys. The names of the characters have been changed due to the right of privacy and peace of mind. All events are real; written from my memory.
