OverviewWhistleblowing and Dismissal Protection in the Multi-Level System. An Analysis of the ECHR, Directive 2019/1937, and the HinSchG The study examines dismissal protection for whistleblowers in the European multi-level system. Initially, the human rights framework of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) is outlined. Against this backdrop, the EU Directive on Whistleblower Protection (Directive (EU) 2019/1937) and the German Whistleblower Protection Act (HinSchG) are examined for their dismissal-related provisions. Ultimately, the implementation of HinSchG into the overall German dismissal protection doctrine is illustrated.
