Author Information

Like many young children, Jim Blissitt III found mentoring and healthy friendships through playing basketball when he was a boy. He understands the importance of providing all children the healthiest platforms to gain new knowledge through experiential learning and play. Rather than allowing basketball to be seen solely through the lens of competition and business, Jim Blissitt III seeks to remind readers of basketball's potential to promote health, teamwork, resilience and mentoring. The young boy in this story is very similar to many of the boys and girls Blissitt has been so fortunate to work with as a counselor, educator and coach. Perhaps, their life outcomes will also mirror the success of the boy in this story.
