What Happened to the Man Next Door?: A Tragic Story of False Allegations, Police Negligence, and How Idiocy in Social Services Destroyed a Family

Overview

A current events story about freedom and Constitutional rights. It's a perfect example of what can happen when government grows too powerful and gets overly-involved in people's lives. In this case, a wild claim of abuse is made against a good man who is a trained foster parent, and a certified adoptive parent. Once false allegations are made, local police act negligently by failing to protect the person who has the most to lose -- the father. Important concepts of constitutional rights and equal protection under the law are ignored. Lacking knowledge of their responsibility to serve and protect each and every citizen, police contact social services for assistance. What happens next is despicable -- a supervisor turns the allegation into an emergency, then dispatches two social service investigators to a small town where they ambush a mother outside her door on Mother's Day! They make a coy demand for entry into the private residence. After getting inside, they apply practiced interrogation skills to begin a war of terror against a nice family. Agents follow a predetermined script which assumes guilt, and justifies intervention. Within hours, the full resources of the state are unleashed against the family, resulting in its eventual destruction. The story gets worse; suffering from institutional group think, social workers and police conspire to deprive a man of his constitutional rights while he is being wrongfully accused. These actions by public servants deprive an American hero of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. One thing they don't anticipate is this; the man they unjustly attack is a member of the world's finest fighting force --he is a highly-trained United States Marine, who has taken an oath to defend the nation against all enemies, both foreign and domestic. It's totally disrespectful to attack a Marine and his family! Only an enemy would do that! In this case, idiocy is the enemy, so the Marine in this story must take on the mission to fight the idiocy, and set things right!
