What Was Jesus Doing In Hell? First, He went to bear our judgment; second, to put the devil in his place. The irony is that this story has lain in plain view for two thousand years, yet the devil has succeeded in blinding men from seeing it. For it describes how Jesus gave Satan the beating up of his life in Hell. There are a handful of New Testament Scriptures which bear testimony to the accuracy of this story. But Jesus Himself directs us to make a thorough study of the Old Testament prophecies, which provide a graphic and complete account of His experiences on the cross and in the Underworld. Prophecy is writing about events before they happen!
