Overview

War of the Gods examines ancient scriptures from India, Siberia, Tahiti, and many other regions of the world independently on reports of battles in the stars. Weapons of unimaginable destructive power were used in the battle. Use of one of these weapons destroyed a planet completely. Traditions from all over the world depict the gruesome effects of the battle in space. Many ancient stories speak of it raining fire from the sky for years. The people of the time tried to protect themselves from this, and thus created more testimonies that prove the star war and contact with beings from other planets. With impressive examples von Däniken illustrates some of the numerous cities that were dug underground as safe harbors from the destructive boulders. Miles and miles of underground passageways have been discovered around the world as they made space for villages and entire cities. To end the book, von Däniken presents his newest discoveries of an event that can only be described as shocking: In 2017, the author was informed that strange mummified creatures were found near the Peruvian village of Nazca. One of the mummies, apparently several thousand years ago, had been implanted with a metal plate under the skin. Scientists agree: These creatures are not from Earth!

Erich von Däniken was born in Zofingen, Switzerland, in 1935. His lifelong fascination with extraterrestrial visitors first found its expression in 1968 with the international bestseller Chariots of the Gods? He is the author of more than forty books, which have been translated into thirty-two languages and have sold more than sixty-three million copies. He was awarded an honorary doctorate by the La Universidad Boliviana. He received the Huesped Illustre award from the cities of Ica and Nazca in Peru. In Brazil he received the Lourenco Filho Award in Gold and Platinum. He is an occasional presenter on the History Channel and the H2 show Ancient Aliens, where he talks about aspects of his theories as they pertain to each episode. He is a co-founder of the Archaeology, Astronautics and SETI Research Association, and he is the designer of Mystery Park, now known as Jungfrau Park, a theme park in Switzerland, David Stifel was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. Bitten early by the acting bug, he studied his craft at the Yale School of Drama. After graduation, he found himself in the usual array of interesting day jobs such as casino porter at Lake Tahoe, ESL teacher in Iran, and Egypt, and video game programmer in the Atari/Intellivision era. Concurrently he worked in films and TV shows for such directors as Steven Spielberg (Minority Report), Danny Boyle (A Life Less Ordinary), and Joel Schumacher (The Number 23). David entered the audiobook field in 2011, when he launched a long-term podcast of serializations of the works of Edgar Rice Burroughs. Today he is a multi-award-winning narrator with more than 125 audiobooks to his credit. His growing catalog of audiobooks is strong on thrillers, horror, sci-fi, and mysteries. David's rich baritone voice also lends itself very well to nonfiction memoirs and history-popular and academic. His classical acting training makes him very strong with heightened literary language. Pegged as a character actor from youth, his facility with numerous characters is frequently praised by reviewers and listeners.
