OverviewHigh Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Vochysiaceae is a family of evergreen flowering plants, including trees and shrubs. The family consists of about 200 species in eight genera. Six of the eight genera are native to the Neotropics, including Central America and parts of Mexico, and tropical South America. The monospecific genera Erismadelphus and Korupodendron are native to West Africa. The family likely originated in South America. Erismadelphus is thought to have diverged from Erisma approximately 30 million years ago, and travelled to Africa as the result of long-distance dispersal. Full Product DetailsAuthor: Lambert M.
