Overview

When a floating city becomes the target of a rash of vampire attacks, only one man can restore the oasis. The City, a tiny metropolis of a few hundred sheltered citizens floating serenely on a seemingly random course a few feet above the ground, has long been thought safe from the predation of marauding monsters. It seemed like a paradise. A paradise shattered when an invasion of apparent vampires threatens the small haven. While the Vampire Hunter known only as D struggles to exterminate the scourge, a former denizen of the city, the attractive Raleigh Knight, and the brash John M. Brassalli Pluto VIII seize control of the city lurching it onto a new and deadly course. D's travails are just beginning. Adapted from the novel and produced with a full cast of actors, immersive sound effects and cinematic music! Performed by Scott McCormick, David Cui Cui, Christopher Graybill, Alex Hill-Knight, David Jourdan, Joey Sourlis, Samantha Turret, Holly Adams, Terence Aselford, James Lewis, Dawn Ursula, Stephanie Nmeth-Parker, Dan Delgado, Ian Putnam, Michael John Casey, Wyn Delano, Eric Messner, and Steve Wannall.

Author Information

Hideyuki Kikuchi is a Japanese author famous for his horror novels. His most famous works include the Vampire Hunter D series, Darkside Blues, and Wicked City. He has been compared to both Stephen King and H. P. Lovecraft. Kikuchi was born in Choshi, Japan, on September 25, 1949. He attended Aoyama Gakuin University and was trained as a writer by famed author Kazuo Koike. His first novel, Demon City Shinjuku, was published in 1982. Kikuchi became close friends with writer and director Yoshiaki Kawajiri during his adaption of Wicked City and the two have since collaborated on Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust and the OVA of Demon City Shinjuku. Yoshitaka Amano is a comic book and manga creator, artist, and cover artist known for his work on Aliens, Sandman, and Speed Racer. Christopher Graybill has performed solo or partial narration for more than seventy-five audio books, including Listen Up and Audie Award winners. Holly Adams is a classically trained, award-winning actor and narrator who loves every single thing about stories and the beings that inhabit them. With her attention to tone and character integrity, Holly enjoys narrating pretty much anything, and specializes in action-adventure/fantasy, mysteries/thrillers, and the subtle comfort of self-help nonfiction. Holly's first language was Southern, after which her family moved around a lot, finally settling in rural New York. Combined with a love of languages and her professional training, these experiences gave her a range of regional Southern dialects and an excellent capacity for accent and dialect in general. When not behind a mic, Holly continues to perform on stage, in films, and with the circus, especially Red Nose. James Lewis is a fiction author who gets bored rather quickly. I bounce around several different genres. Basically, I fall in love with a character, setting, or idea, and I go for it. Terrence Aselford is a professional narrator, editor, and director. He has been commissioned by the Library of Congress and recently founded the Cutting Corporation, a company specializing in sound effects for science fiction series.
