Overview

"In the title story, ""Dark Nocturne"", D is hired to unlock the secret of a siren's song that is drawing men in their twenties to their deaths in the hills outside Anise Village. In ""Notes on Imagined Autumn"" D finds himself caught between two lovers during a ritualistic sacrifice in the village of Shirley's Door, but if D can't stop the sacrifice will all in the village be doomed? And in ""Legend of the War Demons"" two living weapons, genetically engineered creatures who are the last remnants of a war waged hundreds of years in the past, find that battle is not so easily forgotten. It's up to D to stop their unending conflict before it consumes the present as it did the past. Adapted from the novel and produced with a full cast of actors, immersive sound effects and cinematic music! Performed by Scott McCormick, David Cui Cui, Chris Stinson, Renee Dorian, Troy Allan, Julie Hoverson, David Engel, Karenna Foley, Alex Hill-Knight, Christopher Graybill, Rayner Gabriel, Eric Messner, Terence Aselford, Christopher Williams, Torian Brackett, Alexandra Cohler, Nora Achrati, Bradley Smith, David Zitney, Michael John Casey, Laura C Harris, Karen Novack, Yasmin Tuazon, Kelly Baskin, Anthony Palmini, Stephon Walker, and Matthew Pauli."

Author Information

Yoshitaka Amano is a comic book and manga creator, artist, and cover artist known for his work on Aliens, Sandman, and Speed Racer. Hideyuki Kikuchi is a Japanese author famous for his horror novels. His most famous works include the Vampire Hunter D series, Darkside Blues, and Wicked City. He has been compared to both Stephen King and H. P. Lovecraft. Kikuchi was born in Choshi, Japan, on September 25, 1949. He attended Aoyama Gakuin University and was trained as a writer by famed author Kazuo Koike. His first novel, Demon City Shinjuku, was published in 1982. Kikuchi became close friends with writer and director Yoshiaki Kawajiri during his adaption of Wicked City and the two have since collaborated on Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust and the OVA of Demon City Shinjuku. Christopher Graybill has performed solo or partial narration for more than seventy-five audio books, including Listen Up and Audie Award winners. Renee Dorian is an experienced actress, voiceover artist, producer, and writer who has lent her talents to numerous projects. Her acting credits include BLACKish, Scandal, and a plethora of feature films, and she has lent her voice to numerous video games, APP games, national commercials, and audiobooks. When she's not working, she can be found chasing her toddler or teaching yoga. Scott McCormick is an in-demand narrator with a background in film and stage acting. Julie Hoverson is a woman of mystery. And science fiction. And sometimes romance ... all through books she's narrated. Julie is a renaissance woman in the classic sense - in addition to her renfaire costumes, she knows a little bit about many things, which means her sound editors get to edit out a lot of ranting about writers who don't do their research. Julie came to audiobook narration by way of audio dramas, and the podcast anthology series she wrote and produced, and often starred in, 19 Nocturne Boulevard, won several awards in its over 80 episode run.
