Author Information

Born in San Sebastian (Basque Country, Spain), Jonathan Gabinah concluded initially studying industrial engineering at the University of Navarre, later specialized in various disciplines of sociology and economics, to deal exclusively in the area of Strategic Prospective in order to enhance and enrich the Strategic-Prospective Planning eliminating errors of classical strategic planning. His concern for the future and the long term, led him to investigate how to control and implement a strategy that would be useful to mobilize the different stakeholders, a strategy that anticipates events, even at the cost of being a strategy that breaks with the past, and were therefore provided with strategic objectives, realistic and concrete, to guarantee the success of future bets. Thus, together with Michel Godet, has developed and successfully applied the methodology to the convergence of foresight and strategy. It is developed for the implementation of numerous and important strategic work, made for public institutions and private companies, both locally and globally. Subsequently, from the 90's, he was very attracted to the idea of building future based on sustainable development. Also, with the desire to overcome the excessive environmental approaches of most studies. Everything changes when incorporated with force at the economic and social vision to complete its Strategic approach to global sustainable development. To do this, Jonathan Gabinah (also known in the Spanish-speaking world as Juanjo Gabiña) creates and develops a new methodology that combines the Strategic Foresight with the concepts of Sustainability and Strategic Competitiveness. Beginning in 2009, settled in Israel with his family. Since that year, he also deals Technology Foresight and the annual publication of a dossier on the state of the art of Israeli startups in Spanish. Jonathan Gabinah is the author of many books and numerous articles and lectures about building a sustainable future. Similarly, plays an active role in the dissemination of methods for prospective analysis, both local and global level.
