Overview

"""An excellent storyteller who chronicles his career with exemplary character appeal and development . . . is exemplary in his unique voice and writing style . . . will appeal to readers of his genre.""- Judge, 30th Annual Writer's Digest Self-Published Book Awards A tale of government service during some of the most controversial challenges of our lifetime. The journey begins in Vietnam as seen by a young lieutenant from the sidelines, and then from the front lines, and long after the war as a reconciler of the differences between our two nations. The story winds its way for decades through the seamy underworld of international drug trafficking, both at home and abroad, and tells much of the history of the war on drugs. It details some remarkable cases and interdiction operations and reveals a number of little-known events. The trek detours after the tragedy of 9-11 to face the menace of international terrorism, first to restore confidence in the air transportation system at a major international airport, and then to advise the government of an allied nation that had left its law enforcement authorities sitting on the sidelines. The saga ends with bringing a national hero out from the shadows - the founder of international drug law enforcement who had been vilified by his enemies and forsaken by his descendants in federal drug law enforcement. This book provides an insider's view of the successes and failures of four departments within the U.S. government, as well as those of the author."
