Author Information

Rhona S. Baptiste wrote her first Trini Talk in the 1990s and now she has updated and expanded on the vocabulary and proberbs of the peoples of Trinidad and Tobago. A graduate of Marygrove College in Detroit, Michigan, a former head of the Science faculty at St. Joseph's Convent in Port of Spain, an editor of the Junior Express, one of the publications of the Trinidad Express Newspapers Ltd.; and a lecturer of Oral English and English Writing in the People's Republic of China, from 1998 to 2010. Ms. Baptiste is also the author of Kamla: Ascent of a Woman, an examination of the times that preceded the election of the country's first woman Prime Minister.
