Margaret is a retired barrister who represented a number of defendants in high profile cases including the death of the fashion designer Ossie Clark who was killed by his lover Diego Cogalato and Janet Griffiths who abducted a newly born baby from St Thomas's Hospital in Central London. She was born in Lancashire, went to University in Yorkshire - Sheffield before working for the local MP in Blackpool and then went to London to become a barrister. She lived in London for over thirty years and once went to a party at which Paul McCartney sang. Now much older but always looking for new challenges, she studied for an MA in Creative Writing at Exeter University where she was encouraged to draw on her experiences and write a crime novel. Her first novel 'Crucial Evidence' was published in 2014. For a period of four years, she heard the clank of keys at Dartmoor Prison in her role as a member of the Independent Monitoring Board. She was also a trustee of a charity in Exeter that supported ex-offenders. Her favourite books are Dickens' 'Bleak House' and Scott Turow's 'Presumed Innocent' She is married and lives with her husband and an amiable Springer Spanie
