From 2011 to 2015, she held a scholarship for doctoral studies at the University of Western Australia, where she completed a thesis in Italian Studies and Translation Studies under the supervision of Professor John Kinder. This book is a revision of her doctoral thesis. She has written articles on translation studies and second language acquisition published in peer-reviewed journals, such as AALITRA: The Australian Association for Literary Translation, JASAL: Journal of the Association for the Study of Australian Literature, JUTLP: Journal of University Teaching and Learning Practice, and Colloquy: Text, Theory, Critique, among others. She has taught and coordinated units of Translation Studies, Italian Studies and Spanish Studies at the University of Western Australia since 2012, and is a NAATI certified professional translator from English into Italian.
