Within the past three decades, Dr. Wanjohi Kibicho has been engaged in the study of several martial arts styles: Shotokan Karate-do, Judo, and Goju-Ryu Karate-do. He has also trained more briefly in Tae Kwon-do. His martial arts study has included reading, scholarly investigation and regular practice. Although his present interest is in karate-do as a way to achieve health and peace of mind, Dr. Kibicho stresses the importance of practicing other forms of authentic martial arts to attain one's full human potential. Dr. Kibicho has over twenty years of university teaching experience and has written eight books and twenty-three journal articles mainly on tourism management. This is his second book on martial arts - the first one being, Traditional Martial Arts: The Untold Story.
