OverviewRacing up the east coast was a violent storm heading straight toward New Hampshire where Jacob and Max, best friends, were ready to walk to school. Little did the two fourth graders know that their lives were about to change forever. The fierce winds and driving rains terrified the boys until a magical cloud scooped them up and carried them to safety. Bandit was comforting as he cradled the boys and removed them from danger. This clever, playful cloud was sad he never got to attend school. Bandit was bursting with curiosity about New Hampshire. He wanted to explore all the fascinating historical sites, natural wonders, and fun events that the state offered. Sometimes, he serenely floated with the boys over rolling hills, lovely lakes, and thriving farms. Other times, he gave the boys a wild ride going 200 miles per hour. Bandit provided Jacob and Max a fun and fascinating way to experience New Hampshire. They had a snowball fight on the top of Mt Washington, whitewater rafted without a raft, and even visited where the 14th president of the United States grew up. As Jacob lay in his bed after the most amazing day of his life, he had many things to think about. He no longer envied his friends leaving to go on vacation while he stayed in New Hampshire where there was nothing to do. He realized it would take a lifetime to experience all the fun things New Hampshire has to offer. Jacob's thoughts then turned to Bandit, and he hoped that someday soon they would have more adventures. He had Bandit to thank for teaching him that learning was not just found at school and in books. Like Bandit, he was now curious to learn so much more about his state, the whole country, and even the world. As Jacob drifted off to sleep, he knew that the three friends were not done with their adventures. He wondered what state they would explore next.
