OverviewPublished for the exhibition Robert Adams, On the Edge, at the Fondation Cartier in 2007, Time Passes features the titular series devoted to the seascapes and shores of the American West. Here Adams (born 1937) abandoned the theme of ecological catastrophe and chose to focus on the coastline, the sea, and light. Conceived as a meditation on the passing nature of things, this book presents images full of profound amazement and fragility.
