OverviewThree deployments to Afghanistan in 2011, 2014-15, and 2018-19. The first two military, the third as a civilian - all involved in varied aspects of the international efforts in Afghanistan, at increasingly senior levels. Each tour included significant interactions with Afghans as well as foreign military personnel. The two military tours included significant time outside the wire.
