OverviewThis autobiography is a record of my nursing career, from 1978 to 2014. It encapsulates a unique insight into nursing from a clinician's viewpoint. I have endeavoured to convey what it was really like to work within the NHS, and the many changes that have affected my working life. Right from the start of my career in the first chapter there are interesting, thought provoking and funny incidents that have occurred, and I hope the content will appeal to a wide range of readers. Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationI was born at Townlands Hospital in Henley-on-Thames in 1958, went to school locally, and did my nurse training at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading. In 1992 I completed my District Nurse training at Bulmershe, part of Reading University. I have spent my career nursing adult patients, initially in hospital, and the remaining twenty three years in the community. I have been with the NHS all this time, and have a good insight to how it has grown and developed. For the last five years of nursing, I held a post as Community Matron in West Reading.
