Overview

The Write Way Home is an anthology of poems and short stories penned by a recovering people pleaser during a period when the world she had painstakingly constructed appeared to be crumbling. It wasn't until the walls came tumbling down that she realized her foundation was built on shifting sands by sacrificing her own needs and disregarding her emotions. Amidst the rubble, she realized these series of cataclysmic events allowed her to begin reconstructing a life that aligned with her soul's true purpose, starting from ground zero.

Author Information

Heather Bennett, a proud member of the Comanche Nation Tribe and Yankton/Oglala Sioux Tribe was born in Lawton, Oklahoma and raised in Small town americana Cache, Oklahoma. A mother, daughter, sister, cousin, niece and friend who has worn many other hats and lived countless different lives. Born during simpler times, she walked through life with a book in her hand always maintaining a love for literature, etymology, prose and rhyme. She learned to smile in the face of adversity at a young age and invites you along on a journey back home to herself through musings brought about from the depths of despair. Her greatest feat to find joy and harmony within can only be multiplied by the people she shares it with. She hopes by shining her light that you too will know that you are never alone and there is always hope. It's never too late to start over.
