Overview

The World and Back is a trilogy of three books by Jeanne D'Olivier. The first two books, Mummy where are you? and Mummy's Still Here follow Charlotte's journey to try and save her son M from child abuse and the third book tells M's own story told through the eyes of the child. The books are a horrifying and moving account of what happens when a child is disbelieved by those who are supposed to protect him and when Charlotte cannot get a voice for herself and her child, she is forced to take the frightening decision to go on the run from the system who are threatening to place him with his abuser. A story of heartbreak and courage in the face of adversity that will leave you questionning all that you hold to be true about the stystems set up to protect the vulnerable against harm and may leave you wondering, what would you do if faced with the same situation.
