Taylor is a retired Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) minister who served congregations in Texas, Nebraska, Kansas, Nevada, and Oklahoma, and is a retired attorney. He is a graduate of Northwestern University (BA, Latin), the University of Denver (JD), the Iliff School of Theology (MDiv), and Union Theological Seminary in Virginia (PhD, church history), and was an organizer and the secretary and treasurer of the Association for Reformed & Liturgical Worship.
