Kylie and Kaylee Spencer are identical twins. Kylie is the rough one and Kaylee is the prissy one. The Spencer Journals chronicle their adventures in high school; with lots of dances, drama, puppy love, dating, Parental rules, clothing disasters, and just plain fun! Kylie narrates the first book of the series 'Double the dating drama'. Joshua Prescott is the sophomore's class heartthrob. He believes that he can have any girl that he wants at Florida Richmond High and even though he is dating Kylie's twin Kaylee, he thinks that Kylie is next on the list. Kylie describes her dilemma with being the odd one of the twin duo. Kaylee likes the expensive clothes and the boys. Kylie just likes to be left alone. Shortly after starting freshmen year at Florida Richmond high, Kylie discovers that Bryan Michaels has a crush on her. By him being the best friend of her nemesis Joshua, she believes that he is trying to pull one over on her, but he is not. Soon a flame is kindled between the two and she is turning into the very thing that she hates... A teenage girl!
