OverviewThis book presents a new management model that has evolved in Silicon Valley. The future will favor companies that can migrate to a management model, better suited for the times. The abilities to remain entrepreneurial and innovate constantly will be essential for all companies in an innovation economy. However, most firms still use industrial-age management models that are not suited to attracting and energizing entrepreneurial talent. This book imbibes the latest results from a year-long study of Google's approaches to management, and finds similar principles being applied at companies including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Tesla Motors, and Apigee. By distilling on the aspects that work across a variety of innovative firms, the authors present a synthesis that could have profound implications for managers everywhere. Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor Information"Sverker Alange is associate professor in the Department of Technology Management and Economics at Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden. He has a PhD in industrial management and an MSc in mechanical engineering. His research interests are innovation and change processes in firms and innovation systems, entrepreneurship, and sustainable business development. Annika Steiber holds a PhD in management of technology and has for decades conducted research on management for the digital age, as well as worked as an entrepreneurial executive in the tech sector. She is the author of seven management books, including The Google Model: Management for Continuous Innovation in a Rapidly Changing World, The Silicon Valley Model: Management for Entrepreneurship, and Management in a Digital Age: Will China Surpass Silicon Valley? She was the director for entrepreneurship and innovation at Menlo College and is currently the director of its Rendanheyi Silicon Valley Center. With over twenty years of experience as a speaker, writer, and performer, Sheri Saginor brings to her work a true passion for the spoken word. She has worked in a wide variety of industries, including high-tech, education, and music. But the common thread that connects them all is using her voice to communicate with others. As a former professional singer, she has a keen understanding of the ""musicality"" of great audiobook narration. One of her greatest strengths is creating a sense of intimacy and energy that draws audiences in and keeps them listening. She loves narrating fiction, but she specializes in nonfiction genres, including business, self-development, and memoir. When she's not in the recording booth, she enjoys hiking up mountains, running half-marathons, and belting out old Linda Ronstadt and Taylor Swift tunes while playing her guitar."
