She is the author of Literature and Dance in Nineteenth-Century Britain (2009), Fashioning the Silver Fork Novel (2012), and Jane Austen and the Victorian Heroine (2017). Maria H. Frawley is a Professor of English at The George Washington University in Washington, DC, where she teaches courses in nineteenth-century British literature. She is the author of A Wider Range: Travel Writing by Women in Victorian England; Anne Bronte; an edition of Harriet Martineau’s Life in the Sick-Room, and Invalidism and Identity in Nineteenth-Century Britain, in addition to essays on nineteenth-century women writers, including Jane Austen.
