W.E.B. Du Bois's first novel, which tells the story of Blessed Bles Alwyn, a young black man in search of a better future, who falls in love with the energetic Zora. Bles travels from Alabama to Washington, D.C., but is disillusioned by hypocrisies. Du Bois provides a frank view of racial prejudice and inequality. We are delighted to publish this classic book as part of our extensive Classic Library collection.
