Author Information

MAANO RAMUTSINDELA, Professor of Environmental & Geographical Science at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. His main research interest is in the political ecology of transfrontier conservation areas. His most recent books are Cartographies of Nature: How Nature Conservation Animates Borders (2014) and Land Reform in South Africa: an Uneven Transformation (co-authored with Brent McCusker and Bill Moseley, 2016). GIORGIO MIESCHER, Lehr- und Forschungsstelle Namibian and Southern African Studies, Centre for African Studies, University of Basel, Switzerland. His main research interest is located at the conjuncture of history, geography and visuality. He is the author of Namibia's Red Line: The History of a Veterinary and Settlement Border (2012) and co-editor of the Journal of Southern African Studies special issue on the 'South African empire' (2015). MELANIE BOEHI, PhD student in history at the Basel Graduate School of History and Centre for African Studies Basel, University of Basel, Switzerland. Her research interests are in history, urban nature cultures and museum studies.
