Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor Information"Robert ""Bob"" Henderlong was eight years old when he acquired his first camera, a Kodak Pony that ignited his lifelong passion for photography. Moving on to an Argus C3 in high school, his ultimate camera was a Canon with an array of lenses. Armed with a degree in electrical engineering from Valparaiso Technical Institute, Bob moved from his hometown of Crown Point, Indiana to Chicago to work at Magnecord, where he designed tape recorders, for which he received four design patents. After Magnecord was acquired by Midwestern Instruments, a manufacturer of aircraft tape recorders and missile components in Tulsa, he relocated to Oklahoma, eventually landing a job with Altec Lansing, where he was Chief Engineer of the University Sound Division. Bob capped his audio career with a few years as an independent contractor. A licensed ham radio operator, Bob did volunteer work as an engineer on a historic railroad in Oklahoma. He also volunteered at the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum, where he served as an event photographer. Home base for Bob and Barbara, his wife and partner in adventure, is just outside Tucson, Arizona, within walking distance of Tucson Mountain Park. With their dog, Skooch, in tow they have spent almost two decades photographing the beautiful and entertaining animals and birds of Southeast Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Missouri."
