I have read many of Dr. Bergman's papers and books. Bergman being labeled pro-Nazi, anti-Semitic, and racist is an irresponsible and absolutely false accusation that is an outright slanderous lie. Bergman's book, Hitler and the Nazi Darwinian Worldview alone demolishes the false accusations noted in the Lynching monograph. I extremely regret that our former outstanding colleges and universities have become a censorship club where any view not 100 percent bowed to naturalism is extinguished by whatever means needed. Te document by the subcommittee members needs to penetrate our media and now. Theodore J. Siek, Ph. D. Professor Siek holds a Ph.D. in biochemistry from Oregon State University, and an MS in organic chemistry from Washington State University. A lynching? How about a decapitation, or a shooting, or a crucifxion? Hyperbole and description of disgusting behavior, for sure. Based upon trivial charges, Dr. Jerry Bergman was academically assassinated. Even if the verbiage is toned down, censorship by any other name still stinks. Academic freedom is a hollow phrase when claimed by Bergman's critics. If the results were not so tragic to Dr. Bergman and so disastrous to science and higher learning, the petty procedures used by the powerful administrators of Northwest State would be laughable.
