OverviewAgainst the backdrop of global education crises, this study on the Krio people of The Gambia underscores the centrality of culture and heritage to sustainable development and the basic need of all peoples -indigenous, settler or migrant -- to keep track of and propagate their particular history, culture and heritage within the larger, interrelated multicultural framework of nationhood or citizenship, either as majority, comparable or minority groups. Otherwise, their contribution to the historical, cultural and linguistic identity and development of their nation, their self-preservation and propagation, may be lost forever, if not researched and documented for posterity. This scholarly work is proof of the demand for democratic, humanistic, cultural and environmental imperatives for the rethinking and reimagining of a more certain future for education and sustainable human development. -Prof Victor Shegun Benjie Owhotu- Full Product DetailsAuthor: Nana Grey-JohnsonPublisher: Bayshop (Generis Publishing) Imprint: Bayshop (Generis Publishing) Dimensions: Width: 15.20cm , Height: 2.10cm , Length: 22.90cm Weight: 0.531kg ISBN: 9798892482714Pages: 398 Publication Date: 17 September 2024 Audience: General/trade , General Format: Paperback Publisher's Status: Active Availability: In Print This item will be ordered in for you from one of our suppliers.
