Overview

The In between is a collection of poems that speak of love, loss, hurt, and joy. Some are abstract, exploring the grandeur of the Almighty, the power of love, and the intensity of rejection. Others are focused on events, like Sunday football, and encounters with people and places. They are a rollercoaster of emotion and imagery, reflecting the rise and fall of a life in transition. Each poem tells its own story, a snapshot of the ordinary everyday, and the musings of the poet as she navigates her way through the in between.

Author Information

Analise Emmerick was born and raised in Sydney, where she first grew to love reading, and later writing. Her childhood was full of stories - some her own, most the worlds created by others - all of which inspired her imagination. Analise studied at the University of New South Wales and the University of Notre Dame Australia, and is a high school English teacher, sharing her love for fiction and passion for language with her students. She also works for a boutique legal firm, where she puts her skills to good use, and loves to go for coastal walks in her spare time. The In Between is her first collection of poetry.
