Overview

The Seer stood outside the door of the little log cabin in the dead of night. Her thick, woolen cloak was like a shield against the battering of the North wind. In a moment, the door would open and she would step inside to deliver the babe. He has been long-awaited. Once every thousand years the sisters of Fate gathered together to choose the next Immortal. She had foreseen them imprinting the babe with the mark of the Immortals; the Helm of Awe. She had envisioned his life... his family, his friends, his battles. He was a man destined to fall in love once, and only once. She had seen clearly that his life line and love line were woven together with the woman's, much like that of a braid. The vision made no sense... he was to be an Immortal. A human had been chosen for the next Immortal in the hope that he could stop Hessia, the Immortal Queen of Aquila. Humans had killed the last of her family, ending her bloodline for all time. She would not rest until she had destroyed every last one of them. The Seer planned to keep watch over the human Immortal until he reached his zenith. Only then, would he be powerful enough to stand against Hessia. The responsibility of the task ahead weighed heavily upon her. If she failed, and the Immortal Queen found him first, then it would be the end, not only for him... but for all of mankind.
