Shevon L. Sampson is an author, entrepreneur, and businesswoman who believes that serving the community and finding success in business go hand-in-hand. For the past 12 years, Sampson's business success has enabled her to serve as founder and Executive Director of Sowers, a nonprofit organization that fills needs unmet by city and county agencies in Los Angeles and Riverside, California. Sowers serves the community at a grassroots level, providing a variety of services to the homeless, battered women, children, teens, and families in need. Among Sowers' services is the Bag of Seed Program, which prepares teens in foster care with training for a high level of workplace professionalism and provides a wardrobe of professional attire for use in job interviews. Shevon's life-long passion for serving others led her to write her first book, The Heart of a Sower, a self-help workbook based on her own journey as she developed a heart to be a good steward of the things of God. She felt rewarded both in business and spiritually when she gave of her time and talents to worthy causes. She has also developed a companion board game to teach money management from a biblical perspective, as well as good moral decision-making in a fun, engaging, and rewarding way to people of all ages. Shevon has also created a devotional. She hopes to help and inspire others with her collection designed to get people thinking about not only their finances but how the decisions they make about what they keep and what they give can impact their futures and the futures of others. Sampson serves in leadership at Full Harvest International, The Place of Grace, under the direction of Bishop Clarence E. McClendon, and as Chief Executive Officer of Sowers Reap International, a publishing and distribution company for her works which include The God Bank, 2 SOW OR NOT 2 SOW board game, The Heart of a Sower workbook, and Kingdom Keys for Seed Sowers devotional. She is also the Chief Executive Officer of Sampson Insurance and Financial Services, which she founded in 2010. Shevon's past roles include working as a case manager for two nonprofit organizations (Crystal Stairs and Community Build) and the State of California Employment Development Department. Sampson earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. After many years as a successful business leader, she returned to school and will complete a Master in Business Management degree in Fall, 2018.
