This study will explore how the Harlem Renaissance gave birth to the current genre called, Hip Hop yet, due to its inability to establish its mission, vision, and purpose as a movement, the Harlem Renaissance died as swiftly as it boomed, leaving the state of Hip Hop likened unto a neglected orphan without a blueprint for success.

R. K. Lemmons-Weber currently resides in Louisville, KY with her husband and seven children. She graduated from Spalding University with a double Bachelor in Communications and Psychology. She later attended three graduate schools in pursuit of her degrees in the areas of: Social Work, MFT Counseling (Marriage and Family Therapy), and MFA (Masters of Fine Arts) in writing and teaching. She enjoys philosophy, research, biblical studies, quiet moments of reflection, writing, and spending time with her family. As an Indie Author, poetess, and playwright she has been featured in the LEO Magazine (July 2016 issue); and performed poetry readings at various local open mic events such as Louisville Literary Arts. She is a member of Professional Woman Network (PWN) and is certified as a Marketing, Image, and Branding Coach.
