Overview

Volume 4 of The Flying J offers a method of enabling light-sail and gravity-sail stellar and galactic cycling for which the spacecraft and undergo revolutional motion on stellar scales, interstellar scales, galactic scales, and cosmic scales. Such a spacecraft can achieve greatly enhanced forward time travel while maintaining substantially the same regional location within the universe. By reversing the acceleration, the kinetic energy of the spacecraft may be converted to matter and antimatter which can be stored in a substantially localized region of the universe. I hope the reader of this book will come away with a sense of the many future engineering challenges that exist in developing extreme special relativistic space-propulsion systems for which the primary energy inputs originate within the background medium of space-time. The reader will likely develope a sense for how several to numerous propulsion modes can be included in one spacecraft. Such multimode craft can be important where mission time frames and distances of travel are cosmic in scale. Since the absolute and relative densities of interstellar and intergalactic fermionic and bosonic species and the geometric shapes of the distributions can change with time and vary in space, the ability of spacecraft to harness more than one mode of propulsion and energy input can become a mission critical capability. I hope the readers will avail themselves to consider the propulsion methods proposed herein with an open mind with the further understanding that there are likely a huge number of ways to tackle the problem of interstellar travel and travel further abroad.
