OverviewThe primary theme of this second volume of the series title is the subject of the Flying J starship. According to my arguments, these highly elongated light-sail craft may be fitted or augmented with a trailing curvilinear shaped reactive surface similar to the bottom of the letter J. Here, the curved shaped portion would be designed so that the exterior or extended portion of the curved element would experience more drag and/or less pull than the conical member which would serve as the trunk or vertical member of the J shaped spacecraft. The torque imbalance on the curved portion would cause the J to swing to the right thereby increasing the capture area of the stalk or trunk with regard to sweeping out a larger cross-sectional area of the interstellar or intergalactic background. Upon sufficient swing motion, the curved portion of the J would be shadowed by the stalk to some degree to thereby reduce the drag and thus the degree of swing. An optional reflectivity increase for the far end of the J may also be included so that the degree of swing of the J can be reduced even amidst the increased capture area of the trunk of the J. The negative refractive index of the pull-sail portion of the stalk of the J can be designed to reduce upon sufficient swing or increase to a sufficient swing. The flying J offers a method of enabling light-sail and gravity-sail stellar and galactic cycling for which the spacecraft and undergo revolutional motion on stellar scales, interstellar scales, galactic scales, and cosmic scales. Such a spacecraft can achieve greatly enhanced forward time travel while maintaining substantially the same regional location within the universe. By reversing the acceleration, the kinetic energy of the spacecraft may be converted to matter and antimatter which can be stored in a substantially localized region of the universe. The image of the cute infants for the front cover was chosen to represent the birth of a cosmic Humanity facilitated by bold new space travel concepts such as those presented herein..
